The New Hire Coaching Process

New Hire Coaching is a process to insure the best and most effective transition of a new executive, which ultimately means improved performance and faster ROI.. The first 90 to 120 days are the most critical for any new executive, particularly those new to the position. Mistakes out of naiveté can cause irreparable damage to relationships at leadership, community and staff levels. Great potential can be squandered by a couple of early missteps; resulting in a mal-adaption that insures the failure of the executive, the organization and the destination.New Hire Coaching

New Hire Coaching assists newly hired executives to expedite their assimilation into a new role or culture. The ability to transcend from one position to another often requires support. It’s relatively easy for a newcomer to join an organization and learn the reporting relationships, budgeting processes, product specifics, etc… however the ability to learn the organizational culture and communication processes with their peers, colleagues and managers is more difficult.

New Hire Development Plan

We provide a detailed overview of the a selected candidate's strength's and development areas. We all know that there is not a perfect candidate, so having the knowledge of what to expect from a new hire is a real benefit. Because of our unique approach and years of experience, we are able to provide our clients with insight about their new hire's behavior ... before they start the job. Using more traditional methods (hiring without coaching), this information is only discovered some 3-12 months after their start date, since it usually takes that long for their behavior to become apparent.

Company and Executive Synopsis

Information gathering involves the collecting of feedback which can come from: (1) existing and past performance reviews, (2) Interviews (client’s manager, senior management, direct reports, Human Resources Department or peers), (3) interview the key stakeholders, (4) 360-degree feedback, (5) and having the coach shadow and observe the client in his/her work environment. (This step is only necessary if New Hire Coaching services are retained separately)

Integration Plan

Each client, new hire and situation are unique, so we develop customized integration plan to aid the new executive in the assimilation to the new job. Sometimes, there are sensitive issues which are best handled through a communication advocate. Everyone involved wants to start off on the right foot, so it can be beneficial to utilize an objective third party for early communication between the client and new executive.

Sounding Board & Confidant

As in all new situations, there times when things need to be understood. Being available as a sounding board to the new hire provides a private outlet for advice, reinforcement, and support and is a benefit for the new hire because it allows them to move past the problems and focus on the solutions.

New Hire Coaching is a valuable asset to the new executive. We are also available 24/7 for any concerns the new executive may have.
